The Flux Conference
Nova Spivack’s book deals with the evolution of the internet into a kind of state of flux or as a current, which is constantly flowing with information and changing direction and speed. She talks about how the pages of a website can be seen as current which develops in different directions. The notion of movement and direction is very present in her writing, and I decided to symbolise this theme through the use of arrows. The arrows guide the reader how to read the book, they encourage the reader to turn the paper, change their reading direction, and fold out the pages in a certain way. The reading process thus illustrates the movement of information as well as the idea of “current” or “direction” evoked by the author in her book.
